Reforms and Restructuring


The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has launched a comprehensive reforms strategy to streamline the governance process and improve service deliver across the entire public sector through Information Technology as a base for implementation in real time.

Amendments in a number of laws, rules and regulations followed by simplification of procedure and notification of SOPs, the time bound tasking to officers and performance evaluation under E&D rules has amplified the timely disposal of official business.

Resultantly, a massive backlog of pendency has been cleared in terms of rules to be notified under newly promulgated laws, service rules, departmental enquiries, long awaited promotions, and filling of vacant positions, reaching out to public via KP citizen portal have been implemented in all Administrative Departments, Directorates and field formations with the various software being developed, which are maintained by the IT experts at Headquarter level and Computer operators at field.

To improve the level of efficiency in monitoring the transactions being carried out at the district level fresh posts of Deputy Directors Food have created and posted at the divisional level to monitor the affairs of the district offices to avoid / minimize irregularities and misappropriation.

The DFCs and AFCs who have also been declared as special price magistrates have been directed to visit and check prices of edible commodities and ensure that the same are as per prices fixed by the District Price Review Committees. They have also been directed draw samples of edibles for analysis by the public analyst and to proceed against adulterators as per law. Their performance in this regard is being monitored on monthly basis.
